Alastair Harris-Cartwright's Bio

Alastair Harris-Cartwright heads up corporate communications and marketing for Siemens Healthcare in Canada. He is a seasoned communications professional working in the field for over 20 years, leading communications campaigns for a range of corporate, healthcare, government and consumer clients. His past experience includes overseeing corporate communications programs for General Electric (GE), Visa, British Gas, GlaxoSmithKline, Waste Management, and the Co-operative Group, and managing communications programs for the public sector including awareness-raising campaigns for the British Home Office around Holocaust Memorial Day, international awareness days like International Widows Day run by the Loomba Trust, and carrying out campaigns for charity organizations and lobby groups including the Disability Rights Commission and The Commission for Racial Equality. His extensive media relations experience includes managing campaigns for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations and playing a pivotal role in running the press office function for the launch of the UK’s first not-for-profit bank, Charity Bank, launched by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 2002. Since moving to Toronto, Canada in 2008, from London, UK, he has led communications at the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI), a non-profit organization supporting genetic research and education; led communications for Canadian Stewardship Services Alliance (CSSA), the organization that works on behalf of businesses to oversee recycling programs across Canada; managed media and marketing communications at regulator Law Society of Ontario; and currently heads up corporate communications and marketing for Siemens Healthcare in Canada.
