Shivika Adhwaryu is an aspiring Public Relations professional, a freelance copywriter, social media manager for Seneca Hackathon, and a volunteer for PRofessionals & Coffee.
She serves as a freelance copywriter and utilizes her social media management skills to help businesses create an online presence. Previously, she served as an assistant paralegal at a US-based immigration law firm.
Shivika Adhwaryu has always loved telling stories, which led her to explore different writing formats like legal research and news content. This passion for storytelling sparked her interest in how brands communicate, eventually leading her to earn two Post-Graduate Certificates, one in Public Relations and another in Marketing Management from Seneca Polytechnic.
At Seneca, Shivika gained valuable experience in content creation, project management, meeting deadlines, and teamwork. An additional asset is her ability to speak multiple languages, including French, which she’s been learning since grade five. In Canada, knowing French has been particularly beneficial, allowing her to work on bilingual projects and reach a broader audience.
Shivika is currently a Communications Coordinator at CarePoint Health, where she manages the brand’s visibility, social media, and community engagement. She is also involved in the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program, which CarePoint Health leads in Brampton, Halton, and Mississauga.
She is currently focused on maintaining a healthy work-life balance and continuing her learning journey. When asked what advice she would give her younger self, she said, “I would tell myself to be patient and not rush things. It’s okay to take your time to grow and learn.”
Her suggestion for anyone trying to break into the PR/Communications industry emphasize the importance of networking and building relationships with people in the field. She believes these connections can open doors and offer valuable insights. She also strongly recommends volunteering and joining platforms like PR and Coffee to create strong bonds with industry professionals.
