Ted Bravakis is the co-founder and partner of bravacomm, where he leads research and communicationsstrategy work for such clients as BMO Financial Group, Canada Life and GSK. Ted has morethan 25 years of experience in communications and public relations, advising some of the world’s leading organizations on reputation, executive communications & thought leadership, issues management and employee engagement.
Before forming bravacomm in 2010, Ted was Director, Public Relations in the Ministry of Finance in the Cayman Islands Government. Over seven years, Ted established the department from the ground up and was responsible for all global communications supporting the Cayman Islands financial services industry. He oversaw public/media relations, corporate and marketing
communications, stakeholder relations, crisis/issue management and public affairs.
Before Cayman, Ted spent close to 10 years in the corporate and public affairs practice of
Edelman, the world’s PR firm based in the Toronto office.
Ted holds a Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Nova
Scotia. He is also a Certified Applications Professional, licensed by Decision • Partners, in
Mental Modelling InsightTM – a science-based management process for developing behaviour-
changing programs in policy, strategy and communications.
Ted is an accredited member and a Fellow of The Canadian Public Relations Society and is an
active volunteer in CPRS’ accreditation program. In addition, Ted serves on the advisory
committee of Humber College’s Bachelor of Public Relations degree program.
