Samiha Fariha's Bio

Samiha Fariha is a senior associate at Golin Canada, a global public relations agency. Previously, she worked at another global PR agency as a senior consultant at FleishmanHillard HighRoad. Before that she worked for three years as an account executive at Torchia Communications, a mid-size PR agency with offices in Toronto and Montreal. Before pursuing a career in PR, she worked in marketing roles in real estate and in consulting roles in digital marketing in healthcare, jewellery and luxury goods. Samiha holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Toronto, a post-graduate certificate in public relations from Humber College and a certificate in digital marketing management from the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies. Some of her insights on trends in communication, influencer marketing and social media have been published by leading trade publications such as PR NEWS, Ragan Communications, Agility PR’s Bulldog Reporter and Daily ‘Dog, Talking Influence, PRmoment UK and Marketing Magazine Australia. Samiha has spoken about media relations trends at various panels and events hosted by educational institutions and trade publications. In February 2021, she was invited to speak on the communications career panel hosted by Ragan Communications in partnership with Braven, a non-profit working to help students get exposure before they are seeking jobs in the U.S. In June 2021, she was invited to speak on another communications career panel hosted by Ragan Communications in partnership with One Million Degrees, a llinois and Colorado based non-profit providing comprehensive support to low-income, highly motivated community college students to help them succeed in school, in work, and in life in the U.S. In March 2021, she was invited as a guest speaker to speak on the topic of doing media relations during the pandemic in the Emerging Issues class in the Bachelors of Public Relations program at Humber College. In November 2021, she was invited as a guest speaker to speak on the trends in media relations by the Humber Public Relations Committee at Humber College. In January 2022, she spoke on the Media and Marketing in the Digital Era panel hosted by the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Arts & Science.
