Kylie Wurdell's Bio

Kylie has a desire to use her skills to make the world a better place, Kylie contributed her expertise to non-profit organizations in the housing and healthcare industries before landing her current role with a public health organization in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic. In an increasingly digital world, Kylie has been setting focus on strategic content planning, execution and measurement for social media channels and websites. She previously worked with a non-profit seniors’ care organization, leading communications projects, building relationships and coordinating special events to support fund development objectives. Her success in community relations would later grant the opportunity to take on org-wide strategic public relations projects as the Corporate Communications Advisor, and, more recently, to present at the 2022 Symposium for communications and fund development professionals in Edmonton, Alberta. Kylie is one of the last masterminds behind the Shepherd’s Care Cake Auction and a former member of the planning committee for Adeara’s gala and crowdsourced fundraiser, where she jumped out of a plane to support women in recovery and lived to do it again a second time! Kylie has a post-graduate diploma in public relations from MacEwan University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Contemporary Studies and Media Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has completed the Indigenous Canada course offered by University of Alberta, and courses for digital content managers by Accessibility Services Canada. She is a member of CPRS and IABC.
