A coffee chat with Analisa Allen, PR/Communications Specialist

Analisa Allen is a PR/Communications specialist with over 10 years of experience in external/internal communications, reputation management and crisis communications as well as brand development. The majority of her career was spent managing the public relations and public education portfolios for a government agency and the communications arm of a start-up engineering firm – both in Jamaica. She is the holder of a BA in Literatures in English with Psychology and a MA in Communications studies both from the University of the West Indies. Along with these, she is also a graduate of Humber College, where she pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Relations. As a newcomer to Canada, Analisa is kept busy with the activities involved in an internal communications role within the banking sector. Outside of work time, she enjoys long runs, a good book and volunteers her time with the Community Connections English program for Immigrants (Ajax) and CPRS Toronto. Through her voluntary activities, Analisa uses her language and social media experience to bring value where needed. Analisa would say that one of her biggest accomplishment to date aside from her academic pursuits, has been the opportunity to use her different cultural and educational experiences to share and bridge gaps not only personally but professionally.
